Week 16

Guacamole anyone?  This week the baby is the size of an avocado!  He or she weighs about 3 and a half ounces and is about 4 and a half inches long.  The baby's heart is pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day and toenails are growing!  Pretty awesome.
The top picture is our first ultrasound that was taken at 8 weeks.  All you can really see is a little blob, but it is the cutest little blob we have ever seen. :)  We could see the little heart beating in the ultrasound, but at that point it was too small to hear the heartbeat.
We have had a crazy week.  Pepperdine is back in full swing and students are everywhere! Thomas is teaching college class at church on Sunday mornings, teaching a public speaking class on Mondays and Thursdays, and leading/speaking at Collide on Wednesday nights.  This weekend is just as full--tomorrow we are heading down to the beach for Fun Under the Son, have friends coming into town, and Thomas is tag team preaching Sunday morning!  We are excited that students are back and looking forward to a great year.

15 Weeks

This week the baby is about 4 inches long, weighs about 2 1/2 ounces, and is about the size of an apple.  The baby's legs are growing longer than his or her arms and he or she is moving all around.  I can't feel the baby yet, but will start to feel movement in the next few weeks.  I'm feeling good and starting to show (Thomas and I can definitely tell but others are just now starting to notice).  We are really excited and have started looking at baby cribs and furniture.  We are going to be parents!!!

We are expecting!!

Hello Family and Friends!  We are so blessed to be pregnant and excited to be parents.  The baby is due February 8, 2009.  We'll see how close the baby will actually be to it's due date!  We hope to keep everyone up to date with our progress.  I am in my 14th week and the baby is about the size of a lemon.  He or she is about 3  1/2 inches long and weighs about one and a half ounces.  We finally told everyone at church on Sunday about the pregnancy and there was clapping and cheering!  Thomas and I have a great name book that we have been looking at--the name is such an important decision, but luckily we have several months to go!  We look forward to sharing this experience with you.  Stay tuned...
