Daddy's Girl

Bailey is totally a Daddy's girl! We were playing on the floor and I decided to take some pictures in the Pikes Place Market onesie that Papa Tom gave her (thank you!). She wouldn't look at me or smile, but as soon as her "Dada" walked in the room she was all smiles. The look on her face is that of complete love.

It's Official!!!

It's official--we are now the proud owners of a minivan!! I never thought it would happen, but it has. Thomas decided that he wanted a scooter to get around campus and so we decided that we didn't really need his car. After some debate and convincing, we decided to sell both cars and buy a minivan. But we didn't just buy a minivan, we bought a Honda Odyssey. Minivans have come a long way from the days when my family had one. We are fully prepared to be called names and be made fun of, but we think it is possible to be cool and own a minivan. As for the other mode of transportation, Thomas loves his scooter! (Don't worry, he buckles his helmet when he is riding it and we don't let Bailey ride it yet. I just made them pose for these pics.) There is a bit of a disagreement over what to call it though. I think "The Grasshopper" is fitting, but Thomas thinks "The Manped" is cool. Maybe we'll let Bailey decide when she can talk. :)
The last two pictures are just a bonus...enjoy!

Grandparents Visit

Grandma and Grandpa came for a long weekend visit two weekends ago. They babysat for us twice while they were here, which was wonderful. I'm not sure who had more fun--Grandma and Grandpa or Bailey??? They also helped us sell the Camry and get a scooter for Thomas. John drove the scooter back from downtown L.A.--something we couldn't have done without him! Thank you!
Just a side note...I had written but not published the 7 month old post until today because I had forgotten about it. Bailey is now eating squash and bananas and is starting to pull herself up to stand!

7 Months Old

As of Sunday, we now have a 7 Month Old! Why does 7 sound so much older than 6? We have a busy baby Bailey. She is the most curious little lady and wants to touch and grab anything within her reach (or just out of her reach). She is sitting up really well and has started scooting around in a circle (as you can see in the video). She is eating rice and oatmeal cereal as well as carrots, green beans, sweet potatoes, and peas (although she doesn't like peas and we have to mix them in with the carrots). She is babbling and squealing and at some point we are going to have to teach her about using her indoor voice! :) She just started going to Bible class 2 Sundays ago and loves it! Bailey likes to "sing" during worship at church and at Collide. She loves the grocery store and going for walks. Bailey is so much fun and makes us laugh with her funny faces and sounds. Thank you, Lord, for such a joyful blessing!

Fun Under the Son

Over Labor Day weekend, we went to the beach with Campus Ministry for some fun under the Son.  It was a beautiful day and our first time to take Bailey to the beach to play.  She liked the dry sand much better than the wet sand.  She also loved the water once her feet got used to the cold water.  I think we could have stood there and watched the waves for a long time.  Next summer it will be fun to build a sandcastle and play with her in the waves.

Swim Action

I did it again... side-ways video, but it's too cute not to show you!

Swimming, swimming...

Bailey loves the pool!  She loves to splash, splash, splash and doesn't mind the water in her face.  We have been in several different pools these last two weeks because it has been hot here!

Sweet Baby

Bailey and I went down to Thomas' office one afternoon because our house was so hot.  She fell asleep and this is what she did after I laid her down in her stroller for a nap.  She is too funny!

I love these sweet toes!
