37 Weeks and Nursery Pics

We are 37 weeks today and will start the 38th week tomorrow! We are 16 days away from our due date!
Instead of a belly picture, I thought it would be fun to show off the nursery. Nana (my mom) made the crib bumpers, crib skirt, curtains, and organizer as well as basket liners for the baskets in our dresser. A HUGE thank you, Mom!
In the last picture you can also see the blanket (top) Grandma Fitzpatrick made, the blanket (middle) Jan made, and the blanket (bottom) that Barbara made. We have several other handmade blankets and can't wait to use them all.
This week the baby is about 6 1/3 pounds and about 19 inches long. She is considered full-term and if labor starts anytime soon, they won't stop it. Thomas and I are halfway through our La Maze classes and hope to make it at least 2 more weeks.
We are hoping for a very uneventful weekend this weekend because Thomas is away on the Campus Ministry Retreat. I have a whole list of people who are willing to help me if anything happens. :) After this weekend, she can come anytime but we are hoping she will wait until closer to her due date.

Baby Shower!!

On Sunday, our church had a baby shower for us. Everything was beautiful--the people, the food, the decorations... We feel so blessed to be a part of this wonderful church family. They sang and prayed over us and blessed us with their encouraging words. We received so many gifts and feel much more prepared to bring home our baby girl.
We were so thankful that my Mom and Allison were able to come and share the weekend with us. We had so much fun and Thomas taught them how to play his new game, Settlers of Catan (which my Mom won). Mom, Allison, and Thomas also got to go to my doctor's appointment on Monday. They got to hear the baby's heartbeat and then we took a tour of the labor and delivery area.
I have done several loads of laundry this week and folded some very tiny clothes. We can't wait for Baby Fitz to arrive!

36 Weeks

36 Weeks and wearing flip flops in January! It was just a little bit warm here last week (upper 70s, low 80s), which made me thankful that I wasn't at the end of my pregnancy in the summertime. At 36 weeks, the baby weighs about 6 pounds and is about 18 1/2 inches long. She is officially in the head down position and everything looks good. I really like the midwife I saw this week. She really explained things and answered all my questions. I'm hoping she is on duty when we go into labor!

34 and 35 Weeks and Happy 2009!

Two more weeks down and four more to go (plus or minus a week or two)!  We are wondering when Baby Fitz will make her first appearance???  Thomas and I started our LaMaze classes on Thursday night and have 5 more weeks to go.  We'll see if we will make it to all of the classes or not. :)  There are 11 other couples in our class and we have the soonest due date--everyone else is due later in February or in March.  We learned some great relaxation techniques and learned just how cramped it truly is inside my belly!
Pepperdine is in full swing and we have had a house full of students this weekend for leadership training.   Thomas is working hard on sermons, class, and the upcoming Spring Retreat (in January)!
I got to go to the People's Choice Awards on Wednesday night with two of my friends.  It was definitely an L.A. experience!  We were WAY up in the balcony, but got to see a few famous people...Robin Williams, Adam Sandler, Queen Latifah, Reese Witherspoon, Kate Hudson, Dakota Fanning, Carrie Underwood, and Rascal Flatts.  We got to see all of this for only 25 cents (we only had to put a quarter in the parking meter)!
Please keep us in your prayers these next several weeks.  We'll keep you updated...
