Weddings

We have spent our last two weekends at beautiful weddings.  Being in campus ministry, we are fortunate to get to celebrate this special day with these sweet people.  Congratulations to Bryan and Traci and Paul and Cortney!

Beth's Visit and the Zoo

Jacob took this pic of Bailey--he's a good little photographer!

Our friend, Beth, and her kids came to visit us last week. Her son, Jacob, was in a wedding so they were able to come to Malibu for a few days. We had a great time together catching up, going to the park and pool, and going to the zoo in Santa Barbara.  Jacob and Haley entertained Bailey and we saw all of the baby proofing we are going to need to do to our house. :)
The Santa Barbara Zoo was great and we got to see several animals up close.  Jacob got to feed the giraffes which Bailey just loved.  I had to stand back a bit to make sure they wouldn't lick her (they have very long tongues!)!  We also got to stand just a few feet away from a lion that was sleeping up on a rock right next to the exhibit window.
Thanks, Beth, for coming to visit.  We look forward to seeing you all again at Christmas.

Just a little talk

6 Months Old

Bailey turned 6 months old on August 13th.  It is hard to believe how quickly half a year goes by and how much she has grown and changed in that time.  We went to her 6 month check up yesterday and everything is looking good.  Bailey weighs 15 pounds and is 27 inches long.  She is sitting up pretty well, although she still topples over sometimes.  She is babbling away and her newest sound is baabaabaa.  She is teething so she is chewing on everything and drooling a bit.  She is sleeping through the night (although right now it seems to be every other night).  Her hair is really starting to grow and it's coming in blonde.  Her little personality is coming out and she is so much fun!  We love you, Bailey!

I love to jump!

Bailey figured out how to really jump when we were in Albuquerque and had borrowed a door jumper from Jessie and Garrett.  Papa Tom thought Bailey needed one of her own for our house.  She loves it!  Thanks Papa Tom and Nana!

Auntie & Uncle Visit

Auntie Allison, Uncle Darrin, and Monte all came for a visit.  Darrin was able to work from home and he enjoyed working out on our porch overlooking the ocean!  Monte also enjoyed working out on the porch!  We enjoyed dinner at Duke's and finally took them to Malibu Yo. We played Settlers of Catan 3 nights in a row after we put Bailey to bed (and Thomas won all 3 times!).  We also took Monte on the longest walk down around campus to see where Thomas' new office would be.  Bailey started making this squinty smily face that was just too cute!  We had a great time and were glad they came to visit!

Thanks, Nana!

Cereal Time!

We started Bailey on rice cereal on Wednesday night.  Here is the progression of how it went:
Ready to go!
Let me have it, Mom!
Hmmm...I'm not so sure about this stuff.
This cereal stuff is really different and I don't think I like it...
All done!
Luckily, we tried again last night and she ate it all up.  We'll see what she does tonight. :)

Albuquerque Videos

We went to Great Grandma's one afternoon and I'm not sure who had more fun--Bailey or Aunt Jet?  We all enjoyed watching them and laughed just as much.

Dancin' in the Street--again, I'm not sure who is having more fun???
We borrowed Jessie and Garrett's jumper for the week and Bailey figured out just how much fun it is to jump!  I apologize for the sideways videos!

Albuquerque Trip

Bailey and I spent last week in Albuquerque while Thomas went to Georgia for the National Campus Ministry Seminar.  We had a wonderful week and Bailey is a great little traveler on the plane.  We enjoyed spending time with family and friends, shopping, going to lunch, swimming at Great Grandma's pool, going for walks, and being spoiled!  Thanks so much to everyone for a great week!  There are lots of pictures...  Enjoy!
