Summer Fun

It's finally starting to feel like summer around here! On Thursday, Bailey and I headed to the beach with friends. She loved playing in the sand and watching the bigger kids catch sand crabs. As you can see it wasn't hot at the beach, but it was a beautiful day!
On Friday, we went to the L.A. Zoo with our friends and had so much fun. It was a great day to go to the zoo--not too hot and some of the animals were active. The chimpanzees put on quite a show for us! Bailey loved seeing the hippo and the turtle, both words she can say.

Watching the chimps in amazement. They were so loud and crazy!

Saturday was a fun day to get out the pool. Bailey was splashing and having so much fun!

16 Months Old

Bailey Lynn is 16 months old! She seems so big to us and is not a little baby anymore. She has definitely moved into being a toddler. She has a streak of independence and is wanting to try to do things on her own.
Bailey is talking up a storm, some we can understand and a lot that we have no idea what she is saying. She will be telling us a story and will laugh as she talks--it's so funny to think she is mimicking the way we talk. The other day during lunch I asked her if she wanted peaches and she very clearly repeated back to me, "PEACHES!" She has learned that saying please will usually help her to get what she wants.
In the last six weeks, Bailey has cut six new teeth. Four of those teeth came in within two weeks of each other which made for a pretty miserable Bailey! Poor thing had a really high fever and terrible diaper rash. She is doing much better and now has 8 teeth!
Bailey loves to be outside and is ready to go outside as soon as she is done eating breakfast. I've told her the last few days that it is too cold (because we are in the middle of June Gloom-- overcast and foggy mornings) and she says, "Brrr" and goes to play with her toys. We spend most late afternoons outside getting the mail, visiting with neighbors, pushing around the lion, following the neighborhood cat, blowing bubbles, and now drawing with sidewalk chalk!
Bailey loves to point out the airplanes, helicopters, and the moon in the sky. It's amazing to see her soak up everything around her and be able to recognize and name things. She loves to explore and see how things work. She wants "up" and likes to see whatever we are doing.
We are enjoying this sweet girl!

Drip Drop

This is what I found one afternoon when Bailey and Daddy were playing out front...

This girl loves the water and was pretty proud of herself!

Washington Part 2

Bailey is sitting on the pig in front of the flying fish market (although you can't really see the pig or the fish!) :)

Touching a star fish at the aquarium!

We had a great trip and I'm thankful to have the camera back! I need to get some pictures of Gramie and Papa from my mom...

Washington Visit Part 1

We spent last week up in Washington state with Nana and Papa Tom visiting our family up there. My dad was inducted into the Tacoma Hall of Fame for his high school basketball team going undefeated his junior year--pretty awesome! It was a good excuse for us to join them and see my grandparents, aunt, uncle, cousins, and their families. Here are a few pictures that Thomas took on his phone...Bailey "misplaced" our camera and we couldn't find it before we came home. Thankfully, Papa found it after we left when he pulled the vacuum out of the closet. I'll post more pictures when we have our camera back.
Seattle--overcast but beautiful. We saw a shirt at the market that read: "Seattle's Rain Festival--January 1 to December 31" :)
Pike's Place Market--a huge farmer's market...
...so many gorgeous flowers...
...fresh seafood--huge fish! This market is famous for its flying fish.

We really enjoyed the aquarium and getting to see so many animals up close.

Beautiful Puget Sound
Here is Bailey on the airplane with her new turtle shirt from Seattle. She loves turtles!
