Summertime!

Summer has officially (and finally) arrived in Malibu! Most of the summer has been overcast and cool, but now the sun is shining brightly and the air conditioner is running. It always gets "hot" when the students return to Pepperdine. (I have to say "hot" because it's only in the low 90s and our family in Nashville would have to argue that it's not really hot here!!)

We have enjoyed going to the beach with friends. Right now, Bailey would much rather sit and play in the sand than be in the water.

We went to feed the ducks at Alumni Park and were surprised to see so many turtles too!

18 Months, a Haircut, and a Yacht

Bailey turned 18 months old on Friday! She is at such a fun age and we are loving watching her discover new things and figure out how things work. She is saying new words everyday and is starting to put together simple sentences. The other night in the bath, she hid her fish under her legs and said, "Where it go?" then pulled the fish out and said, "Here it is!".

We were out running errands on Saturday and stopped to get Bailey's hair trimmed. She got to sit on Daddy's lap. Before...

Bailey is trying to dress the bear. She loves to play with her stuffed animals now and takes good care of them. She also loves to dress herself and will walk around with shirts, shorts, or pants around her legs. Sometimes she doesn't get very far!

And, just to throw this in...

This is the $300,000,000 Russian yacht that has been hanging out in Malibu for the last week or so. It is massive! You can barely see the cars driving by at the bottom of the picture to get an idea of the scale. It got a lot of attention around here and the Malibu yachts were looking pretty small in comparison! Who has this kind of money?

Lately

This is what we've been up to lately...

Bailey loves to go to Bible class and sing with Mrs. Corleen.

Bailey decided to try laying down in the bathtub and she loved it! She wanted to lay down over and over. She also loves to stick her face in the water, just enough to get her forehead and hair wet.

She is starting to take care of her baby dolls~she will take them for a walk in the stroller, cover them with a blanket, give them a bottle, and "change" their diapers. We usually take one of them with us whenever we go somewhere.

Bailey's friend, Evelyn, has taught her how to get down on the track and do "Ready, Set, Go!"
