At the end of June we ordered caterpillars thanks to the Tallon's birthday gift to Bailey. We had fun watching the caterpillars eat, grow, make their chrysalises, and eventually hatch and emerge as butterflies! We ended up with 5 beautiful butterflies and asked the Fishers to come over the night we released them in mid-July.
The girls were very excited to let the butterflies go and were hoping they could "hold" them before they flew off into the big world!
Our butterflies ended up not wanting to fly out of their little home so after waiting for a while, we helped them find their way out. Evelyn put her hand down in there and a butterfly flew onto her hand.
Then it was Bailey's turn...
And then Marianne's turn...
It worked out that they all got to "hold" one before they flew off which was special. Thanks to the Tallons for a really fun birthday experience!
This little one likes to play under the dining room table!
