Thomas' Birthday

Grandma flew back with us to Malibu on April 1st to visit and help celebrate Thomas' birthday!

 Her timing was perfect because the very next morning I woke up with the worst stomach bug ever.  I was so thankful she was here to play with Bailey and Cassia so I could sleep and get better!

 Happy 32nd Birthday, Daddy!  Bailey made Thomas a book called "Daddy You Are Better Than..." She told me what to write and she drew the pictures.
"Daddy, you are better than twinkling stars in the sky."

"You are better than cherry pie with cream on top!"

 "You are better than a swing at the park."

These two are best buddies!

For Thomas' birthday, we went up to the Santa Barbara Zoo.  It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed getting to see all of the animals.

 You can get so close to the giraffes because you can feed them.  This one was hungry!

We had such a great time at the zoo and then we had possibly the worst afternoon/evening with Cassia. She didn't want to nurse, didn't want to nap, and we finally figured out she was teething...we found a Babies R Us, bought teething drops, and eventually made it home.  We owe Thomas a less stressful birthday outing!

Funny story though~we had stopped on the way home to eat at Olive Garden for dinner.  After dinner we told the waiter it was Thomas' birthday and asked if they could bring him a slice of cake.  Across the room, it was another man's birthday and they brought out a scoop of ice cream and sang him Happy Birthday.  A few minutes later, they brought Thomas a WHOLE chocolate cake and sang to him!  The other family was probably wondering how he ended up with an entire cake and not just a scoop of ice cream!  We laughed and couldn't believe they brought out an entire cake and then enjoyed more than just a few bites of dessert!
